Reference Sires

LJSR Sterling Roan
Now standing in Ohio!
We purchased Sterling from Nada's home ranch as a weanling in 2005. He became our first real "signature sire", throwing absolutely gorgeous and athletic foals. This fine stallion has found a new home but he has left an indelible mark on our program and his legacy will continue in the years to come through the daughters, grandaughters and the son, CA Skye Blue, that are making their own mark here.

Fancy Cut Diamonds (aka Tex)
We used Tex for a number of years and have several broodmares by him that are outstanding producers. We knew it was the right time to sell him when "Tex" bought him! He now calls Colorado home. A son, CA Texarkana, was 2020 Northern Lights Ranch Horse Versatility
HORSE OF THE YEAR and a Top 3
Limited Division, National Ranch Horse Versatility Assoc. Finals, Lincoln, NE Sept 2020.
Chex Peppy Doc
We had the good fortune to lease Chex for two years. We kept a stunning bay roan filly (CA One Karat Jewel) that just came in with her first foal in 2022 and promises to be an outstanding producer. Her first baby was being led around by a 5 year old, just days after weaning. Talk about disposition! A daughter, CA Amiah Chex, has 324 Points in 10 Events including Register of Merits in the following: Amateur Ranch Trail, Amateur Ranch Reining,  Amateur Select Ranch Rail Pleasure, Amateur Ranch Riding,  Amateur Select Ranch Riding, Amateur Ranch Conformation and Open Ranch Conformation.

Keen Shine
Our program started with strong foundation bloodlines. We believe that in order to build anything of value, the foundation has to be solid, whether that's a livestock enterprise of any kind or people. A strong foundation leads to longevity and stamina and perseverance in difficult times or situations. Our mares have proven themselves in that department, many raising foals for us into their 20's.

To be able to compete in the performance arena as well, we chose first to add some Shining Spark blood. These two stallions were both by The Shine by Shining Spark. We raised some beautiful and athletic foals by them before moving on to other stallions.
